A sad tale that unfortunately has a great deal of truth.

The book is written in a beautiful, flowing style. It is engagingly descriptive. While it makes for a quick read, it also prompts the reader to reflect upon the story as a whole, to understand the symbolic relationships of present to the past.
The quality of the book makes me want to look for other stories by this author.

A bit better than mediocre. Good from a historical point of view. I. Enjoyed the book since I grew up during the Vietnam conflict era and have Vietnamese friends.

I like the book which reminds me about part of Vietnam history. I'll spend more time to read Nicole Duong's book.

Having read Ugen's other two books,I was compelled to read Postcards From Nam. Her style of writing is so descriptive and poetic, yet many of the incidents are brutal and raw. A very difficult bridge to traverse. I was drawn to the subject of Vietnam because, as a young adult at the time of the war, it was very much a part of my daily news and my introduction to the horrors of displaced people. Ms. Doing does not disappoint in offering a first hand account of the people caught up in this chaos
